Workshop Details

County Line Issues Workshop Description: Have you tried overlaying your parcels with an adjoining county? Are there gaps or overlaps? What do you do with parcels crossing the county line? This workshop will cover efforts toward eliminating these discrepancies and time for you to share your problems and/or successes.

Cartography Workshop Description: Karen Mulcahy, PhD is a Professor in the Geography Department at East Carolina University where she specializes in GIS and Cartography. She also worked as the GIS Coordinator for Greene County during the period when GIS was first being established in the county. Dr. Mulcahy will speak about best practices for map layouts, color choices, and other cartographic techniques for use in hard copy and digital maps, such as in webmapping, to help you produce a better map!

Hotel Accomodations

The NCPMA has reserved a block of guest rooms at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center (pictured above) in Research Triangle Park, NC. Guest room reservations are the individual responsibility of conference attendees. To make your reservations, call the hotel directly at (919) 941-5050 or Sheraton Central Reservations at (800) 325-3535 and be sure to identify yourself as an NCPMA conference attendee to receive the group rate of $115.00 per night (plus 13% in sales and occupancy taxes) for single or double standard occupancy accomodations.
The group rate will be offered until September 8, 2008. After that date, accomodations will be subject to room and rate availability. It is strongly suggested that you make your room reservations early, as October is the busiest month of the year at this property.

The Sheraton Imperial is located at Exit 282 (Page Road) off of I-40 in RTP. (map)
