Tuesday Afternoon (1-5pm)

Archives Presentation and Tour of State Archives in Raleigh 109 E. Jones St. Raleigh NC (google map)
Note: Parking in Downtown Raleigh is nearly never free. Those wishing to carpool from the hotel (get a ride or give a ride) should meet in the hotel lobby at 11:45am. Parking information from the State Archives. Make sure to bring cash (fees are different depending on where you park and how long you are there, but will be less than $10 per car.) Please bring a Photo ID!

Tuesday Pre–Conference Workshop Agenda
1:00-1:30pm Tom Morgan
1:30-2:00pm Doug Brown discussion of Search Room (security, call slips, etc.)
2:00-3:00pm Tours for 2 groups (Collections Management/Search Room)-- The 3rd group will stay in auditorium for programming with Tom Morgan
3:00-4:00pm Tours for 3rd group (Collections Management/Search Room)-- The 1st two groups will return to the auditorium for programming with Tom Morgan
4:00-5:00pm Druscie Simpson on how to use MARS and the map digitization project with UNC.

Wednesday Morning (8am-noon)

8am-10am Administration of Decedents' Estates and Wills presented by Liz Arias, NC Bar Association
10am-noon Listing Property for Taxation presented by Chris McLaughlin, UNC School of Government

Hotel Accomodations The NCPMA has reserved a block of guest rooms at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center (pictured above) in Research Triangle Park, NC. Guest room reservations are the individual responsibility of conference attendees. To make your reservations, call the hotel directly at (919) 941-5050 or Sheraton Central Reservations at (800) 325-3535 and be sure to identify yourself as an NCPMA conference attendee to receive the group rate of $123 per night (plus sales and occupancy taxes) for single or double standard occupancy accomodations. (club level rate is $173) Make your Fall Conference room reservations online via a Sheraton RTP Group Rooms Reservations Site (opens in new window) customized for our NCPMA Group. Rooms will automatically book at the group rate with online reservations, but only if booked through this site. The group rate will be offered until September 2nd. After that date, accomodations will be subject to room and rate availability. It is strongly suggested that you make your room reservations early, as this is the busiest time of the year at this property.
